Exton University

Exton University, a two-day convention for Exton staff, is part of a training approach with the emphasis on “opening minds,” which involves inviting outside speakers who present their vision of a given theme.

The first such convention, held in 2009, was devoted to the theme of “the transformation of financial services in the face of the crisis.” In 2010, Exton University was based on a forward-looking scenario of the “world in 2020.” The speakers included Nicolas Bouzou, economist and economics correspondent at LCI and Jean de Kervasdoué, former Director of Hospitals at the Ministry of Health. The 2011 event was devoted to world markets and globalisation and the speakers included Jacques Mistral, Director of Economic Studies at the French Institute of International Relations and Jacques Gravereau, Director of HEC Eurasia Institute. The fourth Exton University (2012) covered the theme of digital technology and the speakers included notably Stéphane Treppoz, CEO of Sarenza and Alexandre Malsch, Vice-Chairman of the National Digital Council and Founder of Melty, the news website dedicated to young people. The fifth Exton University (2013) dealt with the theme of growth, and the speakers included Philippe Aghion, Professor at Harvard University and Economist and Florence Jany-Catrice, Economist and Professor at Lille (France). The sixth edition (2014) was about “the Man and the machine”, with the participation of Bruno Bonnell, President of Robolution Capital, Alexis Normand, Development Director at Withings, Laurent Alexandre, specialised in NBIC technologies, and Jean-Michel Besnier, philosopher, author of Demain les posthumains. The seventh edition, held in 2015, covered innovation. For the occasion, we welcomed, among others, Pascal Picq, paleoanthropologist at the Collège de France, Isaac Getz, author of Freedom Inc., and Anne-Gabrielle Dauba-Pantanacce, Head of Communications at Google.

The eighth edition (2016) was devoted to the theme “Optimism and Happiness“, with the participation of Edouard Philippe, Mayor of Le Havre, Bruno Giuliani, philosopher, or Philippe Croizon, athlete..

The Exton Consulting 2017 Summer University was devoted to the topic of “the cities of tomorrow”. The speakers included Saskia Sassen, Professor at Columbia University, or Carlos Moreno, University Professor, Uman Smart city international expert.

In 2018, the 10th edition adressed the topic of Artificial Intelligence with speeches from Aurélie Jean, PhD, CEO In Silico Veritas, Luc Julia, PhD, VP Innovation at Samsung, Jim Marous, Owner and Publisher of Digital Banking Report, Co-Publisher of The Financial Brand, or Brad Stewart, Head of Product, AI Entreprise Solutions at Wells Fargo.

The eleventh Exton University covered the theme of the Purpose-driven companies. We welcomed speakers such as Luc Ferry, philosopher and former French Minister, Tim Tamashiro, author of How to Ikigaï, Philippe Zaouati, CEO of Mirova, or Eric Campos, Managing Director at Grameen Crédit Agricole Foundation.
