Ambition

Founded in 2006, Exton Consulting is among the top 5 strategy and management consulting firms, specialising in financial services.

With strong growth objectives, the firm has a twofold ambition :

    • to be a European reference among strategy and management consulting firms specialising in financial services,
    • to provide our teams with careers that are enticing, meaningful, human and recognised in the industry.

Structured as a partnership, the firm is independent, ensuring that it provides the utmost quality and objectivity in its recommendations. Exton Consulting’s teams are recognised by their clients for their side-by-side and personal engagement, their professionalism, their industry-specific expertise and, most importantly, their continuous quest for concrete results.

In 2010, the firm consolidated its French and global operations under the Exton International holding banner, and opened an office in Morocco that same year. In 2013, Exton opened a third office, in Milan (Italy). In 2017, the fourth Exton office was opened in Munich (Germany).

Philippe Derambure, born in 1963, is a French-Spanish national who graduated from ESCP (Paris Business School) and started his career at Andersen Business Consulting, where he was appointed partner in 1999 with responsibility for Distribution, Luxury and Retail sectors.

He was also head of the “French Desk” of the New York office from 1994 to 1996. After serving as Yves Rocher North America’s Managing Director from 2000 to 2003, he joined Orga Consultant as a partner, before becoming Managing Director in 2005. He co-founded Exton Consulting in late 2006. He is an expert on growth, marketing and distribution strategies.

Bertrand Lauzeral, born in 1965, IEP Paris (Economics & Social Sciences School), and has worked for several management consulting firms. He supervised the Insurance and Social Care sector at Orga Consultants as well as the Strategy, Marketing & Sales practice. He co-founded Exton Consulting at the end of 2006.

Xavier Guizien, born in 1966 and a graduate of ENSTA, began his career at Orga Consultants, where he became a partner in 2005. He co-founded Exton Consulting at the end of 2006. He specialises in the management of major change and restructuring projects in retail banking (distribution, industrial policy, organisation and mergers).

Catherine Poncet

Catherine Poncet

Catherine Poncet, born in 1959, is a graduate of INSA in Lyon and IAE in Paris. She has spent her entire career in the insurance industry, first at La Mondiale Group as a member of the Board of Directors, and then as a consultant.

She participated in the development of several firms, Eurosept Assurances and Deloitte Consulting. In 2001, she joined Atos Consulting as a partner in the Insurance team and was appointed a member of the Executive Committee in 2007. In 2008, she joined Exton Consulting’s management team. Her expertise covers the management of major transformation projects in insurance (distribution, industrial models, organisation, mergers).

Denis Tassel

Denis Tassel, born in 1970, is a graduate of HEC. He was branch manager at Société Générale for 3 years prior to joining the Eurogroup firm’s Bank-Finance practice in 1998. He was co-opted as a partner in 2005. In 2009, he joined Exton Consulting.

He specialises in the management of major growth and restructuring projects in retail banking, redesigning business organisations, customer approaches and the design and implementation of multi-channel strategies.

Frédéric Perrin

Frédéric Perrin, born in 1969, is a graduate of ENSAE Sup Aéro and holds an MSc in Business Analytics and Management Sciences (Southampton Business School). He began his career in strategy and management consulting at Bossard Consultants. Between 1998 and 2001, he was head of the banking division at the web agency Fi System. He then worked for the financial services division of Capgemini Consulting between 2001 and 2008, before joining Exton Consulting in 2009 as a partner.

Frédéric Perrin is head of Exton Consulting’s Cards and Payments unit. With more than ten years of experience as a consultant working with senior executives in the banking and payments sectors, his contributions include in particular the transformation of Europay-MasterCard in France, the launch of the first debit-credit and prepaid cards in France, the launch of one of the first MPOS EMV offerings and the design of a centralised e-payments model for large merchants.

His experience also covers retail banking where for more than twenty years he has managed many strategic and transformation projects across all retail, professional and corporate sectors. He has led numerous projects, including in particular the creation and renegotiation of partnerships and joint ventures with credit institutions, obtaining ACPR accreditation, defining medium-term plans and development plans, the creation of new banking products and services, the multichannel and digital transformation of bank distribution.

Jean-Marc Breitwiller, born in 1969, is a graduate of Ecole Polytechnique and ENSAE ParisTech. He started his carreer at Compagnie Bancaire-BNP Paribas, and then joined the management team of Come&Stay, a European digital ad agency. He switched to consulting in 2002, at Oliver Wyman Financial Services, where he focused on retail banking and consumer finance. He joined Exton Consulting in 2012.

Jean-Louis Delpérié, born in 1976, is a graduate of ESCP Europe and Diplom Kaufmann. He started his career by launching a web startup. Then, in 2001, Jean-Louis turned to consulting in the insurance sector, working for R&B Partners, before joining Eurogroup. In October 2008, he joined Exton Consulting. Jean-Louis specialises in distribution and business transformation projects.

Philippe Tescher, born in 1975, is a graduate of “Ecole Polytechnique” and “Telecom Paris”. He began his career at Andersen Consulting (now Accenture) in the Telecom and Media sector before joining the Bank Insurance division at Capgemini Consulting. Philippe joined Exton Consulting in May 2009, where he is now a partner. His expertise focuses on areas such as payments, particularly electronic payments (credit cards), financial services of large retailers and mobile operators.

Eric Sousa, born in 1973, is a graduate of ESTP Paris and gained extensive experience in consulting at SchumbergerSema and Atos Consulting before joining the Exton Consulting team in January 2009.

With a strong background in insurance, Eric specialises in restructuring as well as facilitating both operational efficiency and distribution projects (e.g. partnerships, multi-access strategy, sales network mergers).

Martin Tixier is a graduate of ESCP Europe (EAP track) and now has 12 years’ experience in strategy and management consulting.

After working in consulting and the banking sector in London, Madrid and Paris, Martin continued his career in the Retail Banking Practice of Eurogroup before joining Exton in October 2012, where he is now a partner.

Christophe Leroy, born in 1975, is a graduate of ENSEA and HEC. He started his career at Eurogroup before joining Exton Consulting in 2009, where he is now a partner.

Philippe Vervloedt, born in 1977 and a graduate of ESSEC, began his career in consulting at Capgemini. He joined Exton Consulting at the founding of the firm in October 2006, where he is now a partner. He specializes in retail banking.

Marie Garnier

Marie Garnier has been working for the Banking sector for more than 20 years. she is a graduate in Economics & Statistics from ENSAE and Sciences Po Paris and certified as a Financial Analyst from the CFA Institute. She started in Audit and Consulting at Arthur Andersen before moving on to quantitative and financial analysis and distribution and marketing of financial products.
Marie came back to Strategy & Management consulting at Kurt Salmon and Capgemini Consulting before joining Exton Consulting in 2017.

Her expertise is focused on managing large transformation programs and developing activities especially in CIB and Asset Management.

She is also teaching at Sciences Po Paris, in the Strategy and Finance Master since 2011.

She has more than 15 years old of experience in strategy and management consulting.
She started her career at Capgemini Consulting where she worked on the reorganization of the financial function in several business areas.
She focused these last years in the transformation of the Finance, Risk and Compliance functions in the banking sector.
She joined Exton Consulting in 2017.

Xavier Landreau, born in 1974, graduated from Sciences Po Paris in 1996 and from ESCP Europe in 2001. He started his career at Crédit Lyonnais before joining the consulting firm Orga Consultants in 2002. He joined Kea & Partners in 2007 before starting at Exton Consulting in 2009. A specialist in retail banking, he has led several bank mergers and is involved in major commercial strategy, network transformation, headquarters and operations management projects.

He began his career in 2005 as a consultant at BBA (Brand Behavior Assets), consulting firm in brand DNA for luxury players. He joined Exton Consulting in 2010. He assists major retail banks in their transformation programs: growth strategy and distribution model, marketing and new territories, operational efficiency, mergers and reconciliation of institutions.

Salvo Vitale holds a degree in Mechanical Engineering (Polytechnic, Turin) and an MBA (SDA Bocconi, Milan).

Salvo Vitale joined Exton Consulting as Italy Country Manager in February 2013. Previously, he was a partner, with responsibility for the financial services department, at Value Partners, a leading consulting firm. Prior to that he was Group General Manager at Sara Assicurazioni, where he managed the strategic repositioning of the company in the Italian financial services market. He has also managed and participated in the development of major Italian Insurance companies, such as Fondiaria Assicurazioni, as Group Industrial Director.

Riccardo Maltoni has a degree in Computer Science from the University of Bologna. He started his career at Andersen Consulting in 1996, specialising in Financial Institutions. In 1998 he joined A.T. Kearney in the Strategic Information Technology Office practice working on retail banking projects. Then, in 2000, he joined McKinsey & Company where he stayed for 9 years, specialising in the banking sector. In 2010 he founded his own management consulting boutique, called Infinity Value Consulting, specialising in financial institutions and mid-corporates. An expert in strategy, marketing, organisation and ICT in retail banking, corporate banking, e-private banking sectors, he joined Exton as a partner in March 2016.

Christoph Stegmeier, born in 1974, holds a Master of Science in Mathematics from Texas A&M University and a diploma from University of Ulm.
He has more than 15 years’ experience as a consultant for banks and insurance companies. He started his career in 2001 at Oliver Wyman and later joined Bluecap Management Consulting as a partner in 2012. His recent work has focused on digital transformation, retail banking strategy and distribution, as well as risk management. His experience spans both developed and emerging markets, having worked extensively in Western and Eastern Europe, but also in the US and Latin America.

Marlene Born-Kinne, born in 1965, graduated from the Bamberg University in Business Administration. She began her career in 1993 at Deloitte. From 1997 to 2010, she held various management positions in industry and telecommunications, mainly at Siemens. In 2010, she joined Deutsche Bank in Frankfurt as Chief Financial Officer of the IT division and heads the Core Banking and Finance Infrastructure division. In 2014, she joined Allianz Germany and was named Head of Finance Digital Sales.
